A patch is one of the cheapest ways to make a UK rec or travel team look unified. Caps, bags, and coach jackets all take a 2.5–3.5 inch embroidered logo well. Chenille is the move for varsity-style warm-ups. Printed patches help when the mascot is a full-color illustration parents will also buy as extras.
Hats and visors
Keep the design simple. Six-panel caps have a seam; a slightly smaller patch often sits cleaner. Iron-on can work on some twill hats, but sewing is more reliable through sweat and rain. Measure the front panels. A 3.5-inch crest that looked fine on a hoodie can wrap awkwardly on a youth cap.
Jackets, bags, and chenille
Coach jackets and backpacks can take a larger embroidered piece. Letterman-style programs should look at chenille letters and mascots. Do not force a 12-color printed mascot into chenille yarn—use embroidery or print for the detailed mark and chenille for the letter.
Sizes that usually work
| Placement | Typical size | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Youth cap | 2–2.25 in | Watch the seam |
| Adult cap | 2.25–2.75 in | Simple logos stitch cleaner |
| Chest / bag | 3–3.5 in | All-purpose team mark |
| Jacket back / chenille | 4–5 in+ | Needs bold shapes |
Fundraising and fan packs
Parents and alumni buy extra patches. Our 5-piece minimum fits a single team order. Add a second colorway later for an alternate hat. Printed patches help if the mascot is detailed. Sell extras at the snack bar; leftover inventory is still cheaper than a full uniform reorder.
Season timeline
Approve the mockup early. Standard production plus UK shipping is typically 7–12 business days after approval. Rush options exist if opening day is close—do not wait until picture day to send a blurry Facebook logo.
